James Turrell at the Guggenheim
September 11th, 2013
About the Event
A spectacular season opener: join us for a private viewing and discussion of James Turrell’s phenomenal exhibit at the Guggenheim Museum. Described by The New York Times as a “nearly hallucinatory play of light and color that makes brilliant use of the museum’s famed rotunda and ocular skylight,” this is Turrell’s first exhibit at a NY museum in over 30 years.
We will meet at The Wright restaurant, adjacent to the museum, and from there we will have exclusive access to the exhibit, with an introduction and explanation of the lighting technology from the museum’s Head of Exhibition Lighting, Mary Ann Hoag.
