Above the Boardwalk – Ocean Wonders: Sharks! at the NY Aquarium

Join the DLFNY for an exciting evening on the beach where Focus Lighting will discuss their design for the New York Aquarium’s breathtaking new building, “Ocean Wonders: Sharks! at the New York Aquarium” Designed to spread the important message of ocean conservation, the exhibit comprises a 57,000 sf, 3-story building on the Coney Island Boardwalk which immerses visitors in a deep dive through the ocean.
The interior tour will explore unique lighting methods used to mimic various underwater environments as the exhibit travels deeper below the surface, and will culminate out on the boardwalk, where Focus Lighting will present the Lumen Award winning Shimmer Wall, a 1,000 ft long installation by environmental artist Ned Khan, illuminated with a custom designed colored light show at night.
