New York City Streetlight

January 25th, 2006

About the Event

The First Place Winner in the City Lights Design Competition will discuss their winning entry and design logic.

The City Lights Design Competition was a two-stage, international competition to select a new streetlight design for the City of New York. Its challenge was to create an innovative, state-of-the-art design that responded to the unique diversity of the city’s architecture and urban landscape while meeting the technical performance standards for a NYC streetlight.

Office for Visual Interaction (OVI), who both won the competition and received an Arts Commission Award for Design Excellence, will walk us through their iconic concept.
